Adventures in Little Osaka

Hey everyone, Joan here.

It’s been a while since Tanya had ramen in LA and I finally got to take her! We went to Ramen Hayatemaru, a place that opened about 4 months ago, in West LA.

Tanya here. I can’t really remember when I have been in LA for ramen but I was excited. It has been too long. Just to give you a heads up, you need cash!

Tsujita Tsukemen

Hey everyone, tis Joan.

I better write this now since I’m going on a ramen run later tonight with Tanya!!! The blog laziness has returned….

I had ramen with my cousin Michelle a few nights ago. We were considering going to Kotoya, but realized that I’ve gone there far too many times and wanted to try something different. Michelle had been craving Tsujita LA’s tsukemen but since it was evening time, we went to Tsujita Annex across the street. We both ordered the regular size Tsukemen with Char siu.

Ramen Quarterly Report

Hi everyone, Joan here.

The first time we wrote a post like this was back in February: The Blog Post You Have All Been Waiting For! Since then, I’ve tried some new places for ramen and I’m now ready to make another quarterly report.

Remember, these are based on my personal preferences; what I thought tasted good and my overall experience. Hopefully my descriptions can give you an idea of what kind of ramen you are looking for!

Reggae Ramen… or Rah-mon!

Max is gonna kill me for getting ramen without him again! Oops.

I sat in for my friend Max’s reggae band, Bodhi Rock, at the Basement Tavern during Cinco de Mayo. Since I was only supposed to play during the second and third set, I went to Santa Monica early enough to grab some dinner with my friends, Matt and Angie. Although I’ve been there several times, I couldn’t resist going to Kotoya Japanese Ramen.

Longest Wait For a Quick Meal

Hey folks,

I just got home from hanging out in Santa Monica with my cousin Michelle and my brother Mark. It was Mark’s birthday yesterday and Michelle wanted to take us out! We went to the new Tsujita Annex in West LA on Sawtelle Blvd. (aka Little Osaka), which was just across the street from the Tsujita LA Artisan Noodle. In case you didn’t know, Tsujita LA only serves ramen during lunch, and the new Tsujita Annex serves ramen all day and night! So I was quite thrilled to try the new place out.

We arrived at Tsujita Annex around 7:30 and there were 21 people waiting ahead of us! We almost considered leaving and going to Kotoya instead… but decided that we should try a new place tonight. The nice thing was, they took our orders while we were waiting outside.
