Journey Through Sawtelle

Hey friends, Joan here.

Even before I moved to the Westside, I had begun my journey through the infamous street of Sawtelle, an area also known as Little Osaka. Every block has a ramen shop and each one has something unique to offer. Just when I thought Sawtelle had enough ramen shops, they opened another one!

A Daikokuya opened up several months ago and I finally got around to checking it out. The first time I heard about this thing called ramen, (the legit kind, not the packaged kind that we all grew up with) was at the popular Daikokuya in Little Tokyo, in Downtown Los Angeles. I’m sure that Westside ramen enthusiasts were thrilled to hear that they no longer need to make a trek to dark side of LA.

Ramen Run with the Clan

Hey everyone!

This afternoon, I went on a ramen run with my cousins! They’ve heard of my ramen runs and have always wanted to try good ramen. They all live in the Hacienda/Rowland Heights area so we met up at Daikokuya.  Being that I have been there several times, I wanted to try something different. I ordered their Tsukemen, and everyone else ordered the Daikoku Ramen, and one ordered it with kotteri (soup extracted from back fat.)

The Blog Post You Have All Been Waiting For!

Hi everyone!

Joan here. Lately, people have been asking me about my favorite ramen places. After having realized that we’ve been to more than twenty ramen places so far, I think this is a good time for me to start one of many blogs on our current favorites. This list will be updated every several months or so. Each restaurant listed will include a link to a blog or two about it. I hope this will come in handy anytime you’re out looking for ramen!

Hey! Tanya here. My input might run a bit small but I look forward to trying out new places.

Total Asian Experience, part 3

Hey friends,

I know I have not been good with keeping up with these blogs. But life happens, things get in the way, and sometimes I’m just plain lazy. I also considered shutting down the blog.

I was chatting with a friend the other day about closing the blog, but told me she enjoyed reading the blogs and that I should keep doing it. So here I am, posting my fourth blog today. After this, I’ll be caught up!

This is for you Angie.

This is how Angie and I text.
