Just writing a quick post for ya!
Before a gig, my friends, Max and JohnPaul, joined me for dinner at Tsujita Annex. The last time I went there I had their tsukemen, which was delicious yet overwhelmingly heavy. So I thought I’d give their bowl of ramen a try this time. The three of us ordered the Ramen with Soft Boiled Egg.
Hi everyone, Joan again.
Here’s another overdue post! I finally got to see what all the fuss was about with Silverlake Ramen and I have to say… it was awesome! So awesome that I went twice! So… here’s a post of my two visits.
The first time I had heard about this place was from my friend, Chris, who described Silverlake Ramen as “not too bad for hipster nipster!” He had been there several times so I had to take his word for it. Chris, his girlfriend Jenny, and my friend, Stacy and I, all met up one cold evening and joined the long lines of the hip ramen joint.
Sorry everyone, I’ve been so busy I haven’t had a chance to do any blogging! But here’s a quick blog on Ramen Zetton in Costa Mesa.
I went to Ramen Zetton several weeks ago with a friend for a pre-concert dinner. We were running a bit late because of traffic but luckily, it was only about a mile from the Segerstrom Center for the Arts. Not exactly a fancy dinner before a classy concert, but that’s just how I roll.
Pork Soy Sauce Ramen
Hey, Tanya here!
I got to go on a random Ramen Run on Saturday. Aaron and I have always talked about going to Amoeba Music some day to check out the selection. The place is off Sunset and Ivar. I love how big the place is.
So much to choose from. From cds, vinyls, dvds, vhs, even laserdisc hahaha!
I recently added a restaurant index under the Map tab, a list you’ll see below the actual map. Restaurants are grouped by city/area, and linked to a blog post. It will make your ramen search much easier, I hope! I’ll eventually get around to cleaning up all the old blog posts. (migrating from blogspot to wordpress created a bit of a mess!) Check it out:

While my sister and her husband were in town, I took them around a bit of Downtown LA. We started in Little Tokyo then down to City Hall. Check out some of the sights! FYI, I have a very goofy family.
Japanese Village Plaza
Hey, Tanya here!
Finally! After almost two years of dating, I convinced Aaron to eat authentic ramen with me. He was always pretty skeptical of driving far just for a meal, but I did want to bring him somewhere where we can have fun after we ate.
I took Aaron to Ajisen because there are several different bowls of ramen to choose from because I knew he wasn’t the biggest fan of pork.
What is this used for?
Max is gonna kill me for getting ramen without him again! Oops.
I sat in for my friend Max’s reggae band, Bodhi Rock, at the Basement Tavern during Cinco de Mayo. Since I was only supposed to play during the second and third set, I went to Santa Monica early enough to grab some dinner with my friends, Matt and Angie. Although I’ve been there several times, I couldn’t resist going to Kotoya Japanese Ramen.
Red Ramen Level 2
This afternoon, I went on a ramen run with my cousins! They’ve heard of my ramen runs and have always wanted to try good ramen. They all live in the Hacienda/Rowland Heights area so we met up at Daikokuya. Being that I have been there several times, I wanted to try something different. I ordered their Tsukemen, and everyone else ordered the Daikoku Ramen, and one ordered it with kotteri (soup extracted from back fat.)
I just got home from hanging out in Santa Monica with my cousin Michelle and my brother Mark. It was Mark’s birthday yesterday and Michelle wanted to take us out! We went to the new Tsujita Annex in West LA on Sawtelle Blvd. (aka Little Osaka), which was just across the street from the Tsujita LA Artisan Noodle. In case you didn’t know, Tsujita LA only serves ramen during lunch, and the new Tsujita Annex serves ramen all day and night! So I was quite thrilled to try the new place out.
We arrived at Tsujita Annex around 7:30 and there were 21 people waiting ahead of us! We almost considered leaving and going to Kotoya instead… but decided that we should try a new place tonight. The nice thing was, they took our orders while we were waiting outside.
