Hey guys, Tanya here.
Loooong time, no write. I apologize, I let life really keep me busy. Joan has been keeping you guys up with the best ramen experience LA and all around has to offer.
I’m here to give super excited news on my end. Ramen places have been popping up slowly around my area and after many years, I have a place approx 10-15 mins away *cries happy tears*
The restaurant is located in strip plaza
Hi all, Joan here!
Happy 2020! Just wanted to quickly write about a few ramen spots that I felt were some of the best ramen I had last year. I definitely went to more ramen places than I probably wrote about, but here are my top faves, in no particular order:
Hi everyone, Joan here!
Just a quick post. As I journey through the Santa Monica ramen scene, which has been booming the last couple of years, I stumbled upon an actually well-known spot, Ippudo Ramen, which had made its mark in New York City. I didn’t realize it even existed over by 3rd St. Promenade, I just happened to walk by it one day. So I invited one of my ramen buddies, Elena, to join me for a ramen run.
Hi everyone, Joan here!
I tried out a new ramen spot in Santa Monica with my friend Elena a couple of days ago. I had driven by Rakkan Ramen for about a year now but never had a chance to go. Since Elena just got back from her trip to Russia and wanted to catch up, we thought we’d try this spot out!

Hi friends, Joan here!
Long time no see! But I just went to a new ramen spot over the weekend and wanted to quickly share about it.
One of the things that I love about LA, especially Downtown LA, is that you can transport yourself to different countries within a 1 mile radius. I brought my friend, Elena, who’s originally from Saint Petersburg, Russia, and has not visited DTLA yet.
As I was googling ramen spots that had vegan options in Little Tokyo, I stumbled upon Okiboru House of Tsukemen. It’s summer, it’s hot… and tsukemen will hit the spot! Heh. That rhymed. Anyway… Okiboru was located in China Town instead.
Welcome to China… Town
Hi all! Joan here.
I went on a road trip to Canada over the holidays. You can check out my other blog to read about it.
We found a cute little ramen spot in Whistler, just two hours north of Vancouver, where we stayed throughout the trip. Thought I’d share a quick post about it!
Hey all, Joan here!
Lately I’ve been playing some morning gigs out in North Hollywood area and would sometimes have a little ramen run afterwards. Either solo or with a buddy. This time I was joined by Kateri.
We found a place called Yok Ramen in Sherman Oaks, along Ventura Blvd. where you can find other ramen joints along the street.
Kateri ordered the Black Ramen and I ordered the Veggie Deluxe Ramen. Unfortunately I forgot to take a picture of my bowl. But you can kinda see it in the picture below:

It’s been a while… but I thought I’d write a quick post about something that got me sooooo excited.
I tried SoulCycle for the very first time after being invited by my friend Matt for almost a year now. But that wasn’t what I was actually excited about.
I forgot my workout socks… don’t judge me.
Wow, I can’t believe how long it has been since I last wrote here. I keep thinking that I had written one not long ago, but apparently I didn’t write for the entire year of 2017. I apologize deeply… I actually have been going out for ramen but haven’t written a single post. 😦
To start this year off, here’s a quick post about my recent trip to Germany with my fiancé. The trip itself could be a series of blog posts since we were there for almost a month. (It was amazing btw!) But I will get straight to the ramen part.
Whenever I go someplace new, it is always my mission to find a ramen restaurant. Not just a Japanese restaurant that happens to have ramen on their menu. But an actual ramen restaurant. Low and behold… Frankfurt, Germany has two ramen restaurants. Probably the only two in the whole country!

Hi friends! Joan here.
I decided to try something new with this blog and actually put together a ramen recipe for you all to try! Here is a vegetarian ramen recipe for those vegetarian or health conscious. There will definitely be more recipes in the future!
Found all of these at Nijiya Market on Sawtelle Blvd. Continue reading
